City Hunter (Manga)

“City Hunter” (Japanese Manga) Full 35 volumes. It is one of my best favored manga.

Almost 25 years ago, I get several volumes from 2nd-hand book seller on the street. And immediately love its adult style joking. Several years later, I got full scanned set from some website. And read through it on PC. But I still hope one day I could read the paper set once.

Last year, happened to find someone selling a full set (Chinese version published in 1992 by China Taiwan) on Carousell (an online marketplace)! And the price was right!! So, bought it immediately. The set was in good condition, if consider published almost 30 years ago. No any missing or broken page, although have yellow pages.

Finally, I have chance to read the paper books on my sofa! And I did read it from the 1st page to the last page.

Generally, I more like the first part of the manga, full of unexpected adult style joking. In the later part, its style becomes a little serious.

Mortal Kombat 11

“Mortal Kombat 11”, Fighting game, played on PC. Last time I played Mortal Kombat was more than 20 years ago. I only remember it was bloody than other fighting games. And this version is still the bloodier one.

I use Logitech GamePad F310. But I am not smart with fighting. So I choose easy level. Thus, can “continue”. I like the story style, just like watching an interactive movie. Have to say, I more prefer this bloody game than other fighting games.

I played the chapters now and then, in between other games, until middle of the story. Then, I changed desktop PC to laptop. But I cannot find a way to backup saved data. Thus, after re-install to laptop, lost progress….. Later, find that the game saves data to its company’s server! But no idea how to retrieve it back. And not want to replay it from beginning.

Acer Predator Helios 300

Recently 15 years, I use and only use DIY desktop PC at home. For PC gaming, Desktop is much better than laptop. I keep upgrading components now and then. The last config is:
Gigabyte Z370 + Intel CPU i5-8500 + Kingston 32GB DDR4 (8GB x 4) + Gigabyte GTX1060 3GB + Samsung 512GB SSD + Seagate 2TB HDD x 2 + Cooler Master MasterWatt 650W

Meantime, I always watch the possible laptop models, in case to be replacement or backup for desktop PC. Since COVID19, working from home becomes norm and often. A movable laptop may be better than desktop. Two options: option one, keep desktop and buy a developer laptop like Lenovo ThinkPad; option two, replace desktop with a gaming laptop like Lenovo 5pi (RTX 1650) and Acer Predator Helios (RTX 2060). Middle-end gaming laptop is enough. Not urgent, so wait for hot sale or year end.

One month ago, pass by IT shop, suddenly find the prices for models of Acer Predator Helios dropped by about 25% (comparing with two months ago)! Google what happened. Acer new models with RTX 3060 coming. so, clean old models with RTX 2060 now! The spec of new models are almost same as old models, except RTX! But the price cut $400.

RTX 2060 is much enough for me. Good to save some money. Limited stock, immediately ordered one:
Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-799G (i7-10870H 16G 1TSSD RTX2060 144HZ)
Also upgraded memory to 32GB and add WD 2TB HDD.

Now, selling my beloved PC.
